In my current role, we are phasing out live labs in many courses as we transition from Instructor-Led Training to on-demand eLearning. This example showcases one of the many simulated labs I have designed.
The challenge with simulated labs is striking the right balance - creating an interactive exercise that requires critical thinking and decision-making without overwhelming or frustrating the learner. Additionally, we must work within the constraints of Storyline’s capabilities. This example demonstrates my ability to navigate these limitations, ensuring the experience is both engaging and effective.
This is an interactive exercise. Follow the directions and if you get stuck, click on the question mark icon for a hint. This exercise is part of a larger Rise course.

This is an example of an interactive quiz where the answers are to be found within the product. It is similar to the simulated lab and uses the same types of Storyline features.
Some of the answers must be found by scrolling, going to different pages, or interacting with the asset in different ways. Because it is a quiz no hints are given. This exercise is part of a larger Rise course.

I used story elements to make the user the hero of this game. They get to practice their Security Analyst skills to try to stop a threat.
My idea was to create refresher type games to use as quarterly challenges for our customers. Where they could practice skills they've learned in our courses in a fun scenario.

A DEI course about Pride Month and Queer Representation in Entertainment. I was tasked with turning a lunch and learn presentation recording into a full course that could be permanently available for staff. I broke the hour-long presentation into chunks and added supplemental information throughout as well as an intro and conclusion.

A Microlearning created for an E-Learning Heroes Challenge. I thought that at-home mixology was a fun subject for a micro-learning. I also saw it as an opportunity to play with Chat GPT to help me come up with the content.
Audience: General Public - Adults interested in at-home mixology
